Nieces and Nephews

Our niece had a dance recital a few weeks back, and we just got the pics from the family. Here are a couple. She is the one in the pink...wait...
she's the one on the far left. It's pretty funny how they are all doing something different in this pic - i think they need to work on thier coordination a bit more...

then we had family picture day at Jay's parents' over the weekend. Here are a couple of the kids:

Very cute. And I am glad she got flowers at her recital. My mom forgot most of the time and it was so sad to see all of the other parents giving their kids flowers when all you got was a hug. You would think she would figure it out after 7 years of dance recitals and competitions!!! Wow, where did all that pent up anger come from?

well that makes me feel better, when i first saw all the flower-giving going on, i thought, "what does a 4 year old need with flowers?!", but i guess it's sweet. And now I'm glad she got them, for your sake, Rachel.

Hey, I've taught 4 year olds ballet before, and let me tell you, coordination is not easy to achieve. I spent most of my classes tieing shoelaces and escorting little girls to their mommy to take them to the bathroom! I was always happy if they were at least smiling and moving at the recital.

In a performing family, my brother often got flowers for the shows he was in. I once complained that I never received any flowers for anything. My sister, Pattie, must have sympathized and had flowers ready for me at my next piano recital. She handed them to me in front of the crowd after I had played horribly. I was so embarrassed.
