Thanksgiving

We had a lot to be thankful for this thanksgiving; friends and family, health, gainful employment for me, a little brother or sister for Laina on the way, and a visit from my parents. They HATE the cold. More than anything I'm pretty sure. But they braved the chill to come out and spend thanksgiving with us.

Laina loved having them out. She got to go for a 'train ride' on the light rail, played cars, trains, dollhouse, and 'memory' (the card game), work on some coloring books and puzzles, do some crafts, and shop for her new "big girl" bedroom set (which she is really excited about - she just told me yesterday how excited she is going to be).

Jenna knocked out an awesome meal, featuring a turkey from a local farm with pomegranate molasses glaze, a matching salad with pomegranate molasses dressing, her mom's awesome stuffing recipe, delicious brussel sprouts, cranberry sauce, and pumpkin pie made from an actual pumpkin. Here's an action photo:

Good eats, and luckily the weather was cooperative and spared them the real cold (though they'd beg to differ). As I'm typing right now its 6 outside.

That's right, 6.

Degrees.

Fahrenheit.

that meal sounds wonderful! way to go, jenna! and, jay, you and your dad look so much alike! no kidding about thanksgiving time having "pleasant" weather compared to this week; we fit in a mini hike on trails around my sister's home that afternoon comfortably wearing jackets. nice hearing from you.
