A Dream

Laina just made my day. No, my month. Well, more like she just said the words I've been waiting for her to say since she was born (and the same ones Jay has been dreading to hear since she's been born) - "Mommy, I want a pony". Okay, it wasn't that exact phrasing. We were watching horse videos on Youtube (yes, I've been influencing her), and she was excited to see a horse galloping. I asked if she wanted to learn to ride a galloping horse some day. She said yes, and that she wanted her own pony. When I asked what color pony she wanted, she replied "pink". So maybe she doesn't quite get it yet. When I listed off some more readily available colors, she decided on "palomino". I looked up some google images of palomino ponies, and this is the one she wants:

I must say, she has marvelous taste in horses (or ponies)! I hate to break it to you, Laina, but it might be many years before you're ready for as fancy a pony as this. Not to mention, Daddy might have a heart attack at the price. (As I sit here typing this, she said "I want that one to ride" pointing at the above pic!) Um, I think we're in trouble.

But in reality, I was picturing something more along the lines of this:

Who happens to be for sale at the reasonable price of $1,900. In Tennessee. Oh well. A mother can dream, right?

(This is getting bad. She is "on the phone" calling her uncle Jesse to tell him she is "getting a new pony".)

If my kids can ride Laina's pony, she can play with our Barbie's!
