3rd Tooth!

Laina cut her third tooth a couple days ago! I think she is definitely taking after me because I was slow at getting teeth, too. She isn't thrilled with showing it off so I couldn't get a pic. But, it's her top right front one. I'm pretty sure she's got molars close to the surface, too, but none have come through yet.

I also wanted to say thanks to everyone for the great food suggestions from a couple posts back! I did find some frozen whole grain waffles and I poured cream on top and she digs it. I think next time I will make my own waffles and freeze them, since they always do freeze well. I even tried a recipe out of Deceptively Delicious - chocolate pudding with avocado. I didn't like it at all, but Laina ate a few bites. That's one way to get her to eat avocado. But I'm really hoping she will come to like it on it's own because I love them!! We are also adding cream to her bedtime milk. That was suggested vs. adding the Carnation Breakfast (which is very sugary). We were adding it to all her milk but it was making her very full and then she didn't want to eat anything else.

I also want to point out that my previous post wasn't intended to say that we don't want to increase Laina's calorie consumption, just that we want to do it in as healthy a manner as possible - to get her on track for a lifetime of healthy eating and living. I just read on a different blog the phrase "start as you mean to go on". If you follow the link, go to point #4 - it's speaking on discipline, but it also applies to many other aspects of life, I believe. I hope that friends and family feel comfortable enough with me and Jay to tell us outright if they have concerns over Laina's well-being. That doesn't mean we will all necessarily agree on every minute detail, but we do respect and value your opinions.
